For those who don't have issue 2 of the new tooting bizarre compilation, you can download the live recording of 'Tam Lin' TM & Vanessa did in High Wycombe here:

Just having a listen right now. This is awesome!! When did it happen? Can we expect more immense collaborations in the future? I hope so!

A holiday, a holy day... and the first one of the year!

I freakin' love that tune too - the prog-breakdown at the end rules.

How in the hell are YOU, Timmy? When you back from outer space?

very fein, cheers. i would be back one week ago, and still suffering. sun ra is good, the planets, and indian rabid dogs. missed that darn house party on sat cos we went to another first and arrived a bit late. but i will attend a TB gig shortly, very shortly.

i'm compiling field recordings and pirate CDs from around the world in preparation for our DJ/VJ clash sometime. I trust you are hastily polishing yer arsenal as well, else i will whip yo ass, for I have some very amusing stuff here!

I am so digging this track. It's a monster.

I demand a triple album of similar material. Gatefold-sleeved, mind, not a box set cop-out.

We are now up on the unrivalled www.tam-lin.org !
Quote:
The band Thumpermonkey Lives! has recorded a version of Tam Lin. It's available for free from their website. Great version in the folk rock tradition, updated as progressive metal, made even better by the evident fun they had in recording it.

This website is an absolute treat. There really are a lot of variants on this ballad, and you can explore them all here.

I recommend Tam Lin Version X which is a sort of meta-version of the lyrics, so you can get to know the story.

Thanks go to Abigail Acland - the webmistress there.

Very Happy
