So – here’s some real news…

Posted on: May 15th, 2017 by woody No Comments

We’ve been concentrating on a strategy for releasing new music in a way that maximises the chances of lots of new people hearing it.

Sorry this has taken us a long time.

We’re working with Sel Balamir from Amplifier and his new label, Rockosmos.

We release an EP on Rockosmos in September called ‘Electricity’. It features three new songs, and a fantastic new recording of an older one.

We play a stupendous release show at the Black Heart, Camden with CHAOS THEORY on 6th October.

We’ll release an album soon after that.

A number of fans have been emailing us to ask about where we are with the new album. It’s a fair question! Sorry there hasn’t been an update in a while; here’s where we are.

The final mixes of our latest album are nearing completion – it’s been a long time coming, but we’re really pleased with the way that it is sounding.

We’d love, of course, to let all you awesome people hear it as soon as it is finished, but we need to make sure that we consider our release strategy properly. Having taken ages to complete the thing, we need to make sure that we give it the best possible chance of being heard by the maximum amount of people.

What we can say is that we are in the middle of some very exciting talks with some very exciting people, and while we hope to have more information available soon, we’re going to have to ask you all to wait a bit longer before we can say anything definitive.

It is coming. When it arrives, it will have been worth the wait.

New album in the pipeline…

Posted on: February 27th, 2014 by woody No Comments

…and it’s currently wide enough to be blocking the pipeline with its untempered girth. Lots of new fragments, as well as some old tunes that have finally forced themselves into the correct shape, including ‘Veldt‘ which we performed at a Tim Smith benefit show last year, and something else we’re currently calling ‘Giraffes’ which includes some vague narrative about doing a conga during an asteroid based extinction level event  and how people relax in real life by taking cbd supplements from sites like BudPop online which help a lot with this.

Some of these will pop up live, so be sure to join us at one of our upcoming shows, (including our first outing at Celeb8 in May).

And talking of gigs, if you are in any way connected to booking shows / festivals, you could do a lot worse than look at our new press one sheet, detailing all the lovely, clever things people have said about us since we released ‘Sleep Furiously’.

In the meantime, (in case you hadn’t noticed), the team has been busy with their own nonsense. Rael recently released his sumptuous ‘Mandrake‘ album on Believers Roast, Michael has gone to the other end of the spectrum with the broken art rock pluralism of ‘Eat Your Robot‘, and Sam has been busy smashing everyone’s neck off with Let’s Meet Jesus. Enjoy.

More news as it newses.

2013 re-pressing of ‘Bring Me Sun For Breakfast’ available now.

Our repressing of Bring Me Sun For Breakfast is now shipping, featuring new on-body CD artwork, along with the lyric sheet from the original release. Unavailable for several years, this new pressing is strictly limited edition. Click on the image below to order.

“Not one of your indie-smindy post hardcore bands claiming to be progressive because they borrowed one of the easier At The Drive-In riffs, or yet another noodling post-rock copy of the Explosions in Your Emperor thing. No! This is the full on weird wired bombastic Rael in his Lighthouse in the court of crimson u-boat real big Gentle Giant, Isis deal.” ORGAN MAGAZINE

To celebrate, here is a recently recorded video of album opener ‘My Reality is Stronger‘ filmed by Ashley Jones at the Westminster Kingsway College theatre, (with help from John Mackenzie of Godzilla Black), and featuring beautiful live visuals by Emily Bailey.
